Jewels of guidance

The Punishment for One who Intentionally Breaks His Fast!

Ibn Khuzaymah (1986) and Ibn Hibbaan (7491) narrated that Aboo Umaamah al-Baahili (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say:
Whilst I was sleeping, two men came to me and took hold of my upper arm, and brought me to a rugged mountain. They said: Climb up.’ I said: I cannot do it.’ They said: We will make it easy for you.’ So I climbed up until I was at the top of the mountain. There I heard loud voices. I said: What are these voices?’ They said: This is the screaming of the people of Hell.’ Then I was taken and I saw people suspended by their ankles, with the corners of their mouths torn and pouring with blood. I said: Who are these?’ They said: These are the people who broke their fast before it was time to do so.’
[Classed as Saheeh by al-Albaanee in Saheeh Mawaarid adh-Dham-aan, 1509].
al-Albaanee (may Allaah have mercy on him) commented: I say: This is the punishment of the one who fasted then deliberately broke his fast before the time for iftaar had come.So how about one who does not fast at all? We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound in this world and in the Hereafter.

What is the best way for a student of knowledge to master the information by 'ilmul'arabiyyah

Question
What is the best way for a student of knowledge to master the information is it by reading and continually looking at the information or by searching or is it by teaching
Answer
Before all this, the best way a student of knowledge should seek to master the information is by seeking knowledge in a continuous manner and not stop while supplicating and invoking his lord to help him. In addition to seeking knowledge in a continuous manner is putting a greater effort on it and striving hard

The Manners of Laughing فائدة .. التبسم والضحك Benefit…smiling and laughing

The Noble Sheik Abu Abdullah Abdur Rahman ibn Sa’dee, may Allah have mercy upon him, said
“Therefore Sulaiman peace and blessings are upon him, heard her (the ant’s) statement and he understood it,
So he (Sulaiman) smiled, amused at her speech” (Chapter 27 verse 19)
So he admired her advice to her nation and the good way she expressed herself. And this is the condition of the Prophets, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon them, they had complete manners and they would show admiration or be impressed at the right times although their laughter would not go beyond a smile. Such was the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings are upon him, most of his laughter was (only) smiling.
Because verily boisterous laughing ( القهقهة ) is a sign of foolishness and bad manners and not smiling and being impressed at those things that are impressive is a sign of vile character and arrogance; and the Messengers are free from such a thing.

Standing the night of the 15th of Sha’baan in prayer and fasting during it’s day

Question: Is standing the night of the 15th of Sha’baan in prayer and fasting during it’s day legislated?
Response: Nothing firm and reliable has been established on the authority of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) that he stood in prayer in the night and fasted during the day of the 15th of Sha’baan. So the night of the 15th of Sha’baan is like any other night, and if someone is a regular worshipper during other nights, then he may stand the night in prayer on this night without assuming anything special (because of it being the night of the 15th of Sha’baan). This is because specifying a time for any act of worship requires a authentic proof, so if there is no authentic proof then the act is regarded as an innovation and all innovations are misguidance. Likewise, regarding specifically fasting during the 15th day of Sha’baan, then no (authentic) proof has been established on the authority of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) to indicate the legislation of fasting on that particular day.
As for that which is mentioned from the ahaadeeth regarding this subject, then all of it is weak as the people of knowledge have indicated. However, whoever has the habit of fasting the 13th, 14th and 15th (of every month), then he can continue and fast during Sha’baan as he fasts during the other months, without assuming anything special about the 15th of Sha’baan. Also, the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) used to increase in fasting during this month (Sha’baan), however, he did not particularise the 15th day, rather proceeded as per norm.

Bid`ah Alert for 15th of Sha`baan

Specifying the day of the 15th of Sha’baan by fasting or reciting the Qur.aan or performing naafilah prayers
Question: We see some people specifying the 15th of Sha’baan with particular supplications and reciting the Qur.aan and performing naafilah prayers. So what is the correct position concerning this, and may Allaah reward you with good?
Response: That which is correct is that fasting the 15th of Sha’baan or specifying it with reciting (the Qur.aan) or making (particular) supplications has no basis. So the day of the 15th of Sha’baan is like any other 15th day of other months. So from that which is known is that it has been legislated for a person to fast the 13th, 14th and 15th of every month, however, Sha’baan is characterised unlike the other months in that (except for Ramadhaan) the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) used to fast more in Sha’baan than any other month. So he used to either fast all of Sha’baan or just a little. Therefore, as long as it does not cause difficulty for a person, it is befitting to increase in fasting during Sha’baan in adherence to the example of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam).

Get Your Sins Forgiven on the 15th of Sha`baan

On the authority of Aboo Moosaa al-Ash'aree-may Allaah be pleased with him- the Messenger of Allaah-may Allaah exalt his mention and grant him safety-said:

"Allah looks over his slaves in the middle of night Sha’baan and forgives all of His creation except for polytheists and those involved in disputes."

Ibn Majah no. 1390 and it has been authenticated by Al-Albaanee in As-Silsilah As-Saheehah no. 1144, and he graded it as sound in Saheehul-Jaami' no 1819.
