Does commiting Shirk out of ignorance take one out of Islaam? – Shaykh Abdus Salaam al-Burjis

The greatest shirk can take you out of the fold of Islaam but what if due to ignorance this is all that you know to be Islaam?
Answer:
He said concerning the person who commits shirk al akbar based upon ignorance or because of it the person falls into this we have to look at what it is that he committed. We have to look at the crime he committed.
He said if we find this shirk al akbar that he fell into and that he committed are from the things that are clear and apparent to all the people of al Islaam then he will have no excuse, his ignorance will not be an excuse for him. If he did something all the people of al Islaam know to be shirk, for example, for a person to make prostration to an idol so he would not have an excuse of ignorance.
But if the person does something, that the majority of the people do not know about this thing, the majority of the people are not experts in understanding this affair this situation is different, he may be excused because of his ignorance.
He said all we have to do is look at the issue of the sahabas what happened when some of them made halaal the drinking of wine. When these sahabas made halaal the drinking of kamar they did so based upon some of the ayat of the Qur’an that they understood. So the other sahaba what they did was that they did not say that they were kuffar but instead they sent to them the proofs to show them that kamar was haram. When these proofs arrived to them, they accepted them and they came back to the truth and they left of that which they were doing. The shaikh said had they continued to be obstinate and the proof had come to them and they would have rejected the proofs, then they would have become kuffar because they would have been disbelieving in Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) and his Messenger (sallAllaahu alaihi wasalam).
So the issue of being excused or having an excuse because of ignorance it becomes different depending upon the time, the place, the person and the condition.

The Prohibition of Swearing by Other Than Allaah

Shaykh Ahmed then read to us from the book of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen, al- Qawl ul-Mufeed Sharh Kitaab ut-Tawheed, Beneficial Speech in Explaining the Book of Tawheed, which is an explanation of Kitaab ut-Tawheed of Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad ibn ‘Abdul Wahhaab an- Najdee (rahimahullaah). He read to us from the chapter ‘Swearing by Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa)’:
“The meaning of this is the glorification of the one that is being sweared by. And the reason of doing this action of swearing is to certify an issue by the remembrance of the one that is glorified. And it has specific terminology that is used in the Arabic language, certain words and phrases that are used to swear by, and they are known as Huroof al-Qasam, which consists of the harf baa, waav, and taa (billaahiwallaahi, and tallaahi).
And a person who numerously swears by Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa), and is consistently and in all times found swearing by Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa), then this is a proof that his glorification of Allaah is weak.
And the reason for mentioning these chapters in Kitaab ut-Tawheed is that from the perfection and completion of Tawheed is that a person glorifies Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa). And the fact that a person swears by Allaah numerously, without taking heed of what he is swearing about, then this is a proof that shows the weakness in his glorification of Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).”
From ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar ibnul-Khattaab (radiyAllaahu ‘anhumaa) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) met ‘Umar ibnul-Khattaab (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) while the latter was going with a group of camel-riders, and he was swearing by his father. So Allaah’s Messenger ( Peace be upon him) said, ((Behold! Allaah (‘azza wa jall) forbids you to swear by your fathers, so whoever has to take an oath, he should swear by Allaah or keep quiet)). Reported by al- Bukhaaree, no. 6270 and Muslim, no. 1646. Also from him [‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar] (radiyAllaahu ‘anhumaa), who said, Allaah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, ((Whosoever wishes to take an oath then he should not take an oath except by Allaah)).
  • In this hadeeth is the proof that it is not allowable to swear by other than Allaah, and that it is forbidden to swear by the created things.
  • And the thing that is sweared by, this is in actuality glorification of that which is sweared by, so the one who swears by the creation is glorifying it, and Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa) is greater than everything and He deserves glorification more than anything else that is in existence.
  • And the one who swears by other than Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa) has committed an act of shirk (association).
From Abee Hurayrah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said, Allaah’s Messenger ( peace be upon him) said,((Whoever amongst you swears, (saying by error) in his oath “By al-Laat and al-‘Uzzaa,” then he should say, “Laa Ilaaha illaAllaah (None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah).” And whoever says to his companions, “Come let me gamble with you,” then he must give something in charity (as an expiation for such a sin).)) Reported by al-Bukhaaree, no. 4579 and Muslim, no. 1647.
  • The one who swears by other than Allaah without intentionally intending this, and the ones who become accustomed to this due to the fact that they have been brought up in Jaahiliyyah, then the Prophet (peace be upon him) has made clear to them the atonement of doing this act (i.e. swearing by other than Allaah in error), and it is by saying the statement of Laa Ilaaha illaAllaah.
  • The atonement for the one who swears by other than Allaah (i.e. in error) by saying the statement of Laa Ilaaha illaAllaah is the affirmation of worship to Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa) and its negation to other than Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).
From Buraydah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah ( peace be upon him) said, ((Whoever takes an oath by al-Amaanah (the trust), then he is not from us)). Reported by Aboo Daawud, no. 3253 with an authentic chain, authenticated by ash-Shaykh al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah, no. 94, and also authenticated by ash-Shaykh Muqbil in al-Jaami’ as-Saheeh 1/291.
Read http://wp.me/p413iq-2N for more details
From Qutaylah, the woman from Juhaynah, (radiyAllaahu ‘anhaa) that a Jew came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: “Verily you make equal and verily you associate, you say: ‘What Allaah Wills and what you will,’ and you swear: ‘By al-Ka’bah.’ So the Prophet () ordered them: (If they want to swear, they should say: ‘By the Lord of al-Ka’bah,’ and they should say: ‘What Allaah Wills then what you will.’).” Narrated by an-Nisaa’ee 7/6, and authenticated by ash-Shaykh al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah: 1166, and also by ash-Shaykh Muqbil in the book as-Saheeh al-Musnad Mimmaa Laysa Fee as-Saheehayn 2/515.
  • It is allowable to swear by the attributes of Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).
  • Therefore, it is allowable for someone to swear by the Qur’aan, the Qur’aan being the speech of Allaah (jalla wa ‘alaa), and speech is an attribute of Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).
  • As for al- Ka’bah, then it is not from the attributes of Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa), and therefore it is not allowable for a person to swear by al-Ka’bah. So it is upon us to say as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘By the Lord of al-Ka’bah.’
From ‘Umar ibnul-Khattaab (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said, “The Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said to me: ((Verily, Allaah (‘azza wa jall) prohibits you to swear by your fathers)).” Reported by al-Bukhaaree, no. 6271 and Muslim, no. 1646.
From Thaabit ibn ad-Dahhaak (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: ((Whosoever swears to be on a religion other than the religion of al- Islaam, then he is as he says)). Reported by al-Bukhaaree, no. 1297 and Muslim, no. 110.
From Buraydah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah ( peace be upon him) said: ((Whosoever swears and says: “Verily, I am free from al-Islaam,” and if he was a liar, then he is as he says, and if he was truthful, then he will not return back to al-Islaam in a perfect manner)). Narrated by Aboo Daawud, no. 3258 and Ahmed, no. 5/355 and an-Nisaa’ee 7/6 and ibn Maajah, no. 2100, and authenticated by ash-Shaykh al-Albaanee in al-‘Irwaa’, no. 2576, and also by ash-Shaykh Muqbil in al-Jaami’ as-Saheeh 1/290.
From ‘Abdur Rahmaan ibn Samurah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah ( peace be upon him) said: ((Do not swear by idols and by your fathers)). Narrated by Muslim, no. 1648.
From Abee Hurayrah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: ((Do not swear by your fathers, or by your mothers, or by idols, and do not swear except by Allaah, and do not swear except that you are truthful)). An authentic hadeeth, narrated by Aboo Daawud, no. 3248 and an-Nisaa’ee, no. 3769 and ibn Hibbaan, mo. 4357 and al-Bayhaqee 10/29, and authenticated by ash-Shaykh al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 7249, and also by ash-Shaykh Muqbil in as-Saheeh al-Musnad 2/341.
From ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar (radiyAllaahu ‘anhumaa) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: ((Whosoever swears by other than Allaah, then he has committed (an action of) disbelief or association)). Narrated by Aboo Daawud, no. 3251 and at-Tirmidhee, no. 1535 and al-Haakim 1/18 and 4/297; and authenticated by adh-Dhahabee, and also by al-Albaanee in al-‘Irwaa’, no. 2561, and al-Bayhaqee 10/29, and at-Tayaalisee, no. 1896, and Ahmed 2/34 and 69 and 86 and 125, and ibn Hibbaan 10/199-200, and see al-Jaami’ as-Saheeh 1/279 and 6/321 of ash-Shaykh Muqbil ibn Haadee (rahimahullaahu ta’aalaa).
From ‘Umar ibnul-Khattaab (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) that he said: “No, by my father,” so the Messenger of Allaah ( peace be upon him) said: ((What is this? Verily, whosoever swears by something other than Allaah has associated)). Narrated by Ahmed 1/413-414 with an authentic chain.

Why is it permissible for Allah to swear by the Creation and it is not permissible for us to swear by the creation?

“BY TIME…”
Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) is swearing by time, Allah is taking oath by time.  And in Arabic taking oath can be down with three letters and these letters are: Waw/ba/ta
And these letters are also known as the “Huroof al-Jarr” (that which comes after ends with a kasrah eg. Wallaahi/billaahi/Tallaahi).
So Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) when we see that He swears by something or takes oath by something from His creation then this is honoring this thing from the creation and also showing its greatness.
And the third thing is that, as for the creation, it is not permissible except that they swear by Allah or take oath by Allah (subhana wa ta’ala).  As we have in the hadeeth which Shaykh Al-Albaani and Shaykh Muqbil make authentic:  ”Whoever takes oath by other than Allah then he has made Shirk with Allah or disbelieved.”
So it is not permissible for the creation to take oath by other than Allah.
And then somebody might come and say: “Why is it permissible for Allah to swear by the Creation and it is not permissible for us to swear by the creation?”
Then we reply to this person with the ayah of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala):  “Allah is not asked about what He does but they are asked.”

“Whoever takes an oath by al-Amaanah (the trust), then he is not from us”

From Buraydah (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allaah ( peace be upon him) said,
((Whoever takes an oath by al-Amaanah (the trust), then he is not from us)).
Reported by Aboo Daawud, no. 3253 with an authentic chain, authenticated by ash-Shaykh al-Albaanee in as-Saheehah, no. 94, and also authenticated by ash-Shaykh Muqbil in al-Jaami’ as-Saheeh 1/291.
Regarding the third hadeeth of Buraydah, Shaykh Ahmed mentioned that this great test and tribulation has affected the general people in the lands of the Muslims, such that they have become accustomed to this (i.e. swearing by al-Amaanah), and it has become widespread on their tongues to swear by al-Amaanah. And the trust (al-Amaanah) is a great thing to them, and they use as a proof for their action of this the statement of Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa):
Truly, We did offer Al Amaanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allaah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allaah’s Torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of itsresults).(Al-Ahzaab 33:72)
And Shaykh Ahmed mentioned that in this verse is the affirmation that al-Amaanah, the trust, isa great thing. A great thing which Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa) has sent down upon the creation. A thing which mankind took and bore it. But if the person who swears by al-Amaanah is asked what is greater than al-Amaanah, he would say: ‘Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).’ So why not swear by Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa), who is greater than all things, and he is the One who is entitled to glorification. And the promise of punishment that the Prophet ( peace be upon him ) mentioned for the one who swears by al-Amaanah is that ‘he is not from us,’ which means that he is not from our path, our clear path and Manhaj (way /methodology).
And it is upon the person who due to accustom and habitual habits finds himself swearing by al-Amaanah, it is upon him to take note and to be careful of what comes out of his tongue, and that he must be truthful in his swearing, and that he must swear only by Allaah (subhaana wa ta’aalaa).
And in regards to being truthful when swearing, the shaykh mentioned the hadeeth of Ibn Mas’ood (radiyAllaahu ‘anhu): The Prophet ( peace be upon him ) said, “Whoever swears falsely in order to grab the property of a Muslim (or of his brother), Allaah will be angry with him when he meets Him.” Reported by al-Bukhaaree, no. 6238.

Bowing as a Greeting Either in Karate or for Some Other Reason

Question:

We joined a karate club in America, and when our trainer told us that we had to bow to him after he bowed to us, we refused, explaining to him that we couldnt because of our religion. He accepted our excuse but then he said that we had to bow our heads at least. He said that since he began the greeting by bowing, we had to respond. What is the ruling in this issue?
Answer:
To greet somebody by bowing is unlawful, regardless whether that person is a Muslim or a disbeliever, and regardless whether you bow with our entire upper body or with your head only. This is because bowing is a kind of worship, and worship is for Allaah Almighty alone.
May Allaah send peace and blessing upon Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Barelwi Dance Rituals, Prostrations (Sujud) to Tahir Al-Qadri

Prostration is from the greatest of forms of worship and is due only to Allaah alone, and after the Shari’ah of Islam was revealed, what was permitted in previous nations (of prostration of respect and welcome greeting) was prohibited and declared unlawful, and the Scholars of Islam explain it to be major shirk when offered to other than Allaah. In the Barelwi folk-religion, prostration to their pirs, walis and others in whom a belief of guaranteed intercession is held, is common and encouraged. We have here a video clip (we cannot show it as it has music and dancing) and in a period of less than four minutes, we see six devotees making sujud at the feet of Tahir al-Qadri, a leading figure in the Barelwi folklore religion.

Ruling upon the one who said ”Muhammad” and ”Alee” at the time of fear

What is the Ruling upon the one who said ”Muhammad” and ”Alee” at the time of fear
Question:
On occasions you hear from those of old age, men and women, that they say at the time of fear, or fear for the children and whatever resembles that (of times of distress and anxiety) – one of them says (at such a time), “Muhammad” and “`Alee”.
Answer:
This is from calling upon other than Allaah, and seeking aid from other than Him. This expression involvesShirk and it is not permissible to say it, or for the tongue to become accustomed to it. And whoever said it,seeking refuge by way of the name of the Prophet (sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam), or by way of the name of `Alee (radiyAllaahu `anhu), then he has committed associate partners (with Allaah) with the Major Shirk that expels from the religion. And with Allaah lies success.

Legitimate and Illegitimate Amulets – Shaykh Abdul-Azeez Bin Baz

Abdullah bin Mas’ud, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) say: Verily, incantations, amulets and Tiwalah are Shirk. [1] Jabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, said:I had an uncle who used to treat people with incantations for the scorpion’s sting. When the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) forbade incantations, he came to him and asked him: O Messenger of Allaah, You have forbidden incantations, and I treat those who are stung by scorpions with incantations. He (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: He who can help his brother, let him do so. [2] How do we compromise between the Hadith which forbids, and that which permits? And what is the ruling on wearing an amulet containing Qur’anic words on the chest of the affected person?
Answer:
The forbidden formulas for incantations are those containing Shirk, beseeching other than Allaah, or meaningless words. But incantations that are free from such things, are legitimate, and are among the great means of healing.
The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: There is no harm in incantations as long as they do not include Shirk. [3]
And he (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: He who can help his brother, let him do so.[4]
He also said: No incantation for other than the envious eye or venomous sting. [5]
This means the most affective and beneficial incantation is that which is used in these two cases. The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) was himself treated with incantation, and he treated others with it.
As for wearing amulets by children and patients, it is not permissible. Such are called trinkets. But the most valid opinion is that they are a form of Shirk, and unlawful, because the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: He who wears an amulet; may Allaah not help him, and he who wears a shell; may Allaah not protect him. [6] He who wears an amulet commits Shirk.[7] And he (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Verily, incantations, amulets and Tiwalah are Shirk. [8]
The scholars are at variance regarding the legality of wearing amulets containing Qur’anic Verses. The correct verdict is that they are unlawful, for two reasons:
  • The general prohibition of wearing any kind of amulets according to the Prophetic traditions whether they contain Qur’anic Verses or not.
  • Leaving no room for formulas of Shirk, for if the amulets containing Qur’anic verses were allowed then they may be confused with the other amulets, and that will keep the door open to Shirk, and all kinds of amulets would be worn on that ground. It is known that closing the door to things that lead to Shirk and evil deeds is one of the greatest judicial objectives. It is Allaah who grants success.

Is it permissible to stand or sit by a grave for supplication in favour of the deceased?

Seeking Blessings from Graves
Question:
Is it permissible to stand or sit by a grave for supplication in favour of the deceased?
Answer:
The purpose of the legitimate visitation to graves is to get a lessonremember death and heednot for seeking blessings from the buried.
When one enters a cemetery he should greet the dead saying: As-Salaamu Alaikum, O people of this place, believers and Muslims, and we will – if Allah wills – follow you. We ask Allah safety for ourselves and yourselves.[1]
One may also recite other supplication in favour of the dead that are recommended by the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam).
But he should not ask the dead people to fulfil his needs, seek relief or benefit from them. Supplication alone is an act of worship which must be dedicated to Allah alone.
There is not harm however, in standing or sitting by the grave while supplicating, but not for seeking blessings or taking rest. Graveyards are not resting places or residential area for people to sit in.
It is legitimate to stand by the grave areas right after burial to supplicate in favour of the buried asking Allah to confirm him and forgive him. It is authentically reported that whenever the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) buried a dead, he would stand by his grave and say: Ask Allah’s forgiveness for your brother, and ask him to make him give firm answers, for right now he is being questioned.[2]

During the Illustrious Days of Islam, Arabic was the Dominant Language – Explained by Shaykh Uthaymeen

Shaykh Uthaymeen:

Do you not know that the religion of Islam—during its illustrious days—do you not know that foreign nations, meaning those who did not speak the Arabic language; became what? They became Arabs; they rushed to learn the Arabic language. Rather there were even from these people, those who were Imaams in the language. Al-Fayrooz Abaadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, was from Persia. Despite this, he authored the lexicon Al Muheet, which the people return to today for the Arabic language. This is because the weak always imitate the strong. Thus when Islam was strong, the Arabic language became prevalent and the people rushed to learn it.
The situation is completely different now. It is such that if a person studies the letters of the English language—let alone studying how to compose words into a sentence—he becomes proud and boastful. Rather some of them teach their children the English language. If the child wants to give the salaam his father says: ‘No, do not say, As salaamu aliakum, say—bye bye.’
What is bye-bye? This is because ‘bye-bye’ is the language of the people who have the superiority which they possess, while we are weak. Has it reached this level? The child says: ‘Ma Salaama, go in the trust of Allah, Salaamu aliakum’; (and the parent tells him to say) ‘bye-bye’.
With Allah help is sought. Why is this? This is because his father is the one who taught him this. And the child lives based upon what his father teaches him.
At any rate I say O brothers I say; it is obligatory upon us to seek strength and might with our religion. This is because the might belongs to Allah, to His Messenger, and to the believers. And we should not follow behind them in the affairs which have no benefit to us. As for following them in industrial matters and that which Allah has placed on the earth as a benefit; then this is not criticized. Rather this is encouraged, and we can be leaders in this, along with the establishment your religion.

Shaykh Ahmad Baazmool Urges the Muslims to Support Masjid ad Da'wah in Baltimore, MD

What do the Muslims believe about Jesus the son of Mary? – Explained by Shaykh Uthaymeen

Host: Shaykh Muhammad at the beginning of this gathering we would like for you to speak to us concerning the belief of the Muslims regarding Eesa (Jesus) peace be upon him. And what is the ruling for those who say he was killed and crucified?

Shaykh Uthaymeen: All praises belong to Allah, and may the prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions.
The belief of the Muslims regards Eesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam peace be upon him, is that he is one of the noble Messengers; rather he is regarded as one of the five Messengers of strong will. And they are: Muhammad, Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Eesa (Jesus) and Nuh (Noah) peace be upon them all.  Allah the Exalted has mentioned them (as a collective group) in two places in His Book. He said in chapter Al Ahzab:
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا
And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant. (Chapter Al Ahzab 33:7)
And He said in Chapter Ash-Shuraa:
شَرَعَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّى بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ
He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and Eesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion, and make no divisions in it. (Chapter Ash-Shuraa 42:13)
And Eesa (Jesus) peace be upon him is a human from the children of Adam; created from a mother without a father. And he is a slave of Allah, and His Messenger. Thus he is a slave who his not to be worshipped, and he is a Messenger who is not to be disbelieved. And he does not possess any characteristics of Lordship at all. Rather he is, as Allah the Exalted said:
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ مَثَلًا لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
He [Eesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favor to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. (Chapter Az Zukhruf 43:59)
And he (Eesa-Jesus) did not order his people to take him and his mother as gods to be worshipped instead of worshipping Allah (alone).  Rather he only said to his people:
اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ
Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord (Chapter Al Maidah 5:117)
And he (Eesa-Jesus) peace be upon him was created by the word of Allah the Exalted. As Allah the Exalted said:
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَى عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Indeed, the example of Eesa (Jesus) to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was. (Chapter Aali Imraan 3:59)
And there was no Messenger between Eesa (Jesus) and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon them. As Allah the Exalted said:
And [mention] when  Eesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam, said, “O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad (i.e. Muhammad).” But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, “This is obvious magic.”     (Chapter As Saff 61:6)
And no person’s faith will be complete until he believes that Eesa (Jesus) is a slave of Allah and His Messenger, and that he is free and clear of what the Jews attribute to him; those who say that he is the son of an unchaste women and he was born of fornication. We seek refuge in Allah from such as evil statement. Allah the Exalted has exonerated him from that.
And the Muslims are free from the Christians, those who have strayed as it relates to the true understanding concerning Eesa (Jesus) son of Maryam; such that they have taken him and his mother as gods to be worshipped instead of worshipping Allah (alone).  And some of them have said he is the son of Allah. And some of them have said: Allah is the third of the trinity.
As it relates to his killing and crucifixion; Allah the Exalted has surely negated that he was killed or crucified, with a clear absolute negation. Allah the Exalted said:
And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. And there is none from the People of the Scripture except that he must believe in him before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness. (Chapter An Nisaa 4:157-159)
Thus whoever believes that Eesa (Jesus) son of Maryam peace be upon him was killed and crucified has disbelieved in the Quran, and whoever disbelieves in the Quran has disbelieved.
Thus we believe that Eesa (Jesus) peace be upon him was not killed and he was not crucified; rather we say verily the Jews have upon them the sin of killing and crucifying, as they think they killed the Messiah Eesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam, the Messenger of Allah. And they did not kill him in reality; rather they killed someone who was made to resemble him. As Allah placed his resemblance upon one of them, thus they killed and crucified him. And they said: verily we killed the Messiah Eesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam. Thus the Jews have the sin of killing and the sin of crucifixion based upon their assertion upon themselves that they did such.
And Allah the Exalted freed the Messiah Eesa (Jesus) son of Maryam from that, and He protected him, and raised him upon to Himself in the heavens.
And he will return to the earth during the last days and he will judge by the legislation of the Prophet peace be upon him. The he will die on the earth and be buried in it. And he will be raised from it just like the rest of the children of Adam.
From it (the earth) We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time. (Chapter Taha 20:55)
 And His statement:
Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out     (Chapter Al ‘Araf 7:25)

The birth of Jesus the son of Maryam narrated from Sahih Muslim – Explained by Shaykh Umar Fullatah

Translator’s foreword:
About Shaykh Umar: Shaykh Abdul Mushin Al Abbad Al Badr said: As for his name, then he is my comrade, my friend, my beloved, the Shaykh Umar Muhammad Bakar Al Fulani known as Fullatah…and Al Fulani is an ascription to a tribe in Africa.
He was born in 1345H (1925) and he passed in 1419H (1999)
Shaykh Umar Fullatah may Allah have mercy upon him said:
I say: Eesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam; Allah created him from a mother and he does not have a father. Similarly Allah created Adam without a father or a mother. And likewise Allah created Hawwa (Eve) with a father and no mother. Thus the affair is not strange. Allah said in His glorious Book:
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَى عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ
Verily, the likeness of Eesa (Jesus) with Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from soil. (Soorah Aali Imraan 3:59)
Our father Adam—peace be upon him—Allah created him from soil, from sounding clay like the clay of pottery, from an adhesive soil. After that Allah ordered that a soul be blown into him with the statement, ‘Be’. Thus Adam was.
Where is the mother of Adam? Where is the father of Adam? The father of mankind—Adam—does not have a father or a mother. Thus the All-Knowing, the Most Great, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise, the One who does whatever He wants and chooses, created Adam without a mother or a father. And the affair is not like Darwin (upon him is the curse of Allah) says; the theory of Darwin which states the origin of mankind is from monkeys, and they evolved. The theory of evolution, says that monkeys evolved through stages until it became Adam. And that Adam is not from soil but rather he is an animal who evolved.
And Allah the Exalted said:
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَى عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Verily, the likeness of Eesa (Jesus) with Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from soil, the He said to him ‘Be’ and he was. (Soorah Aali Imraan 3:59)
As for Hawwa (Eve); Allah created her from a rib from Adam. She does not have a mother while she has a father. Thus Allah the Exalted wanted to create Eesa (Jesus) so He created him from a mother, and she is the virgin Maryam, the untouched; may the best prayers and peace be upon her and upon our Prophet.
She is Maryam the daughter of Imraan, the one whom Allah described with His statement:
الَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا
The one who guarded her chastity (Soorh At Tahrim 66:12)
In this is a testimony from the Creator, the Exalted, that she surely guarded her chastity and she was not a lewd woman, peace be upon her.
Her father was a righteous man, a worshipper. Her mother became pregnant with her, meaning with Maryam, so she dedicated her to the service of Allah. (Her intent was) if Allah blessed her with a son, she would dedicate this son to the Masjid, worship and the obedience of Allah. But Allah decreed the mother of Maryam was to give birth to Maryam; a girl and not a boy who would take care of the affairs of the Masjid and worship Allah in the Masjid.
Thus when she gave birth to a girl she wanted an excuse with Allah, she said:
Then when she delivered her [child Maryam], she said: “O my Lord! I have delivered a female child,” – and Allah knew better what she delivered, – “And the male is not like the female, and I have named her Maryam, and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and for her offspring from Satan, the outcast.” (Soorah Aali Imraan 3:36)
Allah the Exalted said:
So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zakariya. Every time Zakariya entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, “O Maryam, from where is this [coming] to you?” She said, “It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account.”(Soorah Aali Imraan 3:37)
Maryam—while she was still young—was honored by Allah. The provision that Zakariya found with Maryam—and Zakariya was from her closest guardians—he would come and find the fruits which only grow during the summer months with her during the winter months; and he would find with her the fruits which only grow during the winter months with her during the summer months. She was blessed, righteous, pious, throughout her youth and when she reached womanhood.
Yusuf the carpenter asked for her hand in marriage, and he was from her relatives. He desired to marry her. And she was righteous; dedicated to her prayer area, dedicated to obedience to Allah and worship. The entire community of that time period testified to her righteousness and piety. And for this reason when she became pregnant (they said to her)
O sister of Harun, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.”       (Soorah Maryam 19:28)
How did you get pregnant with this boy? Where did you get this boy from?
Verily this boy was a miracle from Allah the Exalted. Allah wanted for her to have this son, so an angel came to her. The angel informed her that Allah had sent him to her.
(To announce) to you the gift of a righteous son (Soorah Maryam 19:19)
She said: “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?” (Soorah Maryam 19:20)
How can I have a son, I do not have a husband and I have not been unchaste nor committed fornication? So how can I have a son?
And it is from the way of Allah the Exalted that the child is not born except by two parents, between a husband and a wife, man and a woman. He (the angel) informed her that this is what Allah wanted.
She said: “Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah.”(Soorah Maryam 19:18)
(The angel) said: “I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son.” (Soorah Maryam 19:19)
Allah commanded him (the angel) to blow into the sleeve of her outer garment. Allah the Exalted commanded the angel Jibreel to blow (into the sleeve of her outer garment) the word ‘Be’. Thus Jibreel came with a command from Allah. Thus Jibreel blew the word ‘Be’ that Allah had sent him with (into the sleeve of her outer garment) and thus Maryam became pregnant with Eesa (Jesus) may the best prayers and peace be upon her and our Prophet.
And I remind you and I say to you, this affair is not strange. Because Allah created Adam peace be upon him, without a father or a mother, and we are all offspring of Adam, peace be upon him. This because Adam is the father of all mankind, except for those who follow the Darwin theory of evolution, so if they are not the children of Adam then they are the offspring of monkeys. But as for us, then we are the offspring of Adam; the one who Allah created with His Hands. And Allah breathed a soul into him. And Allah caused him to live in paradise, and Allah created from his rib Hawwa (Eve). After He entered them into paradise He forbade them to eat from the tree. When they ate from the tree He expelled them down to the earth. Thus this has been the linage since Allah created Adam and Hawwa up until this day of ours, and until Allah inherits the earth and all those upon it.
