The Best way to Fast the Day of Aashoora (10th Muharram) – Explained by Shaykh Fawzan by AbdurRahman.org

Question:
May Allah grant you good Noble Shaykh.  There has occurred some doubt and disturbance amongst the people concerning affirming the day of Aashoora. The question: Is there any blame upon the person who fast the ninth, the tenth, and the eleventh day of Aashoora in order to ensure he catches the day of Aashoora; then in addition to this, does he obtain the virtue of fasting three days from every month?
Shaykh Fawzan:
Al Imaam Ibn Al Qayyim—in Zaadil Ma’aad when speaking about the fast of Aashoora—he said the fasting is of three types.
The first type: This is for him to fast the day of Aashoora, the before it and the day after it; three days. And he said this is most complete. This is the best method; for the person to fast the day of Aashoora, the day before it and the day after. Thus this will be a total of three days.
The second type: For the person to fast the day of Aashoora and the day before it orthe day after it; he fasting two days.
The third type: For the person to only fast the day of Aashoora, just one day.
The best way is for him to fast three days, the second best method is to fast two days, and if he fast only one day, the day of Aashoora, this is permissible. This is permissible but it is in contrast to what the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم order, when he commanded us to fast the day before it or the day after it. But it is permissible, and he will receive the reward for what he has fasted.
But fasting these days for Aashoora does not take the place for fasting three days from the month because fasting three days from every month is something separate. And the best days to fast the three days are on the 13th, 14th and 15th; the ‘white days’. These are the best days to fast the three days. But if he fast the three days in the beginning of the month, the middle of the month or the end of the month, there is no problem with this.
And fasting three days from every month is separate from the fast of Aashoora. This is the Sunnah and this is also the Sunnah. And likewise this is separate from fasting every Monday and Thursday during the week. Every Sunnah has its place.

Speak to the people with what they know (understand), would you like that Allaah and His Messenger are belied? – Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee by AbdurRahman.org

Explanation of the narration: حدثوا الناس بما يعرفون  (Speak to the people with what they know)By Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee
In Saheeh al-Bukhaaree it is said that ‘Alee (ibn Abee Taalib) said:
حدثوا الناس بما يعرفون، أتريدون أن يكذب الله ورسوله؟
“Speak to the people with what they know (understand), would you like that Allaah and His Messenger are belied?”
This contains proof that some knowledge is not suitable for everyone. For verily, from knowledge is that which is specific, even if it is beneficial in itself and from the affairs of Tawheed, but perhaps many of the people don't know it. And this is from the likes of some affairs of the Tawheed of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat (Names and Attributes), from some issues of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat and mentioning some of the Sifaat (Attributes) of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic: this is not suitable for everyone. Even for some of those who seek knowledge, you might not mention some complex issues of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat. But they are commanded to believe in this generally, and to believe in that which is well known from the Book and the Sunnah. As for the complex issues of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat, then this is only for the elite (qualified) and it is not suitable for the general people (laymen) or the beginners in seeking knowledge. Because from it is that which confuses and that which might lead a person to belie Allaah and His Messenger, as ‘Alee said here, may Allaah be pleased with him:
حدثوا الناس بما يعرفون، أتريدون أن يكذب الله ورسوله؟
“Speak to the people with what they know (understand), would you like that Allaah and His Messenger are belied?”
So the relation of this athar (narration) to this topic, is that from the reasons of the rejection of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat is that a person speaks to the people with that which they don't understand from al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat. The people have a general belief in al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat, by which their Tawheed, Imaan and Islaam is correct. So entering into the details of this is not suitable, except if the person who is spoken to comprehends and understands this. And this is not the situation of most of the people. This is why Imaam Maalik, may Allaah have mercy upon him, when someone in his presence narrated the Hadeeth of the Image (“Allaah created Adam in His Image”), he prohibited him from narrating it, because the laymen do not understand the likes of these issues well. And likewise some issues of al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat, they are not suitable for the laymen. So the reason of rejection might be that you narrated to someone who does not understand this issue, so because this issue is above his intellect and above his level (of understanding) and above what he has attained of knowledge, this might lead him to rejecting something from the knowledge about Allaah, the Majestic and Most High, or rejecting something from al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat. So that which is obligatory upon the Muslim - and especially the student of knowledge - is that he doesn't make the people reject anything from that which Allaah - the Majestic and Most High - said or His Messenger - sallal-Laahu 'alayhi wa sallam - informed about. And that which leads to this rejection, is that he speaks to the people with what they don't know. He speaks to the people with a Hadeeth which their intellect doesn't grasp. As has come in the other Hadeeth:
ما أنت بمحدث قوما حديثا لا تبلغه عقولهم إلا كان لبعضهم فتنة
“You do not speak to a people with a Hadeeth which their intellect doesn't grasp, except that it results in a fitnah for some of them.”
And Al-Bukhaaree has named a chapter after this in as-Saheeh in Kitaab al-'Ilm with his statement:
“Chapter: Whosoever left some optional things out of fear that some people may not be able to understand them and may fall into something more severe.”
And this is from the important affairs which the teacher, the speaker, the admonisher and the preacher should understand: that he should speak to the people with what they know, and that he makes their Tawheed stronger and complete and that he increases their Imaan by way of that which they know, not by way of that which they reject.

Female Students of Dammaj voice their reality

Abu ad-Dardaa narrated [Saheeh Muslim, No.6588]: The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said: «No believing servant supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), except that the Angels say: "The same be for you too".»

al-Imaam an-Nawawee comments [Riyaadh as-Saaliheen #1494]: This hadeeth makes it evident that one who prays for someone in his absence also stands to benefit from it because the angel appointed for the task of praying for those who pray for others will pray for him, saying, "O Allaah! Grant him also the same which he has asked for others".

“ I Don’t Know If We’re Going To Make It”: Female Students Of Dammaj Voice Their Reality

By Andrea Christoph

Holed up in a makeshift bunker, crowded to the brim, the women and children of Dammaj are thankful for a brief quiet after the storm of war. For weeks they have lived with the sky raining hot metal upon them, the ground shaking beneath them and death all around. One American woman, whom I will call Umm Ahmed, has endured more than one war against Dammaj, but “ this one is the worst”. She had never heard such crashing sounds, with such intensity and such frequency in all the years of attacks on Dammaj by Houthi factions. She sits with her children after asr and plays a game with them to distract them. While there is little food and little water, there are plenty of shells from bullets. She makes up a sort of “bowling” game where they stack up the shells and see how far they can go until they fall.

The question on everyone’s mind, and one that has been voiced by many of Dammaj’s students, is how far the Houthis are truly going to go. The eyewitness accounts are horrific, and many cannot comprehend the mindset of those who will not cease attacking so that the dead can be collected. They wonder about the mentality of those who not only bomb places of prayer, not only prevent aid from entering, but also target hospitals where the facilities are already far from sufficient to care for limbs that are blown off, severed intestines and exposed head wounds.

One female student and British national who preferred to be called Aaliyah, spoke of what her husband had seen. “ One brother … Canadian…was shot in his head. Another brother had his leg blown off and bled to death because he couldn’t get treatment. Someone else had a chunk taken out the top of his head and was scratching it, taking bits of flesh with it and unaware of what he was doing.”

She went onto express how uncertain the future seemed. “I don’t know if we are going to come out of this alive. It seems that this is a government thing. For someone to phone from the government and say give them Barakah… We are being bombed and killed…what does Barakah have to do with it?”

Apparently a lot, as Mount Barakah is a mountain that sitting at a strategic position on one of Dammaj’s borders. It overlooks the surrounding regions, and many times has been included in various stipulations presented by the Houthis as a condition for a ceasefire. But once the Houthis have access to Barakah, they would have access to all of Dammaj, and the students are determined not to let this happen. Apparently so is Sheikh Yahya al-Hujooree, even if it meant that his own life might be taken. It was said by one student that the first row of men who were defending Dammaj against Houthi entry were killed, and that al-Hujooree was ready to go to fight saying, “How can I just sit here and wait while my students are being killed?”

One contact expressed that today in Dammaj,  six Houthi spies were caught analyzing various key areas. One was caught with a flashlight observing a protective ditch, and presumably its depth, to explain to his superiors. Although there is little to elaborate on, it is clear that the spies were passing on detailed information to the Houthi faction to give them better understanding of how to attack and where to shoot their missles.

“They don’t have exact measurements”, stated the contact. “They need someone to say…increase another 10 meters etc…Because they don’t have that level of accuracy.”

The main masjid in an area called the maktabah has been a primary target for years with the intent of killing Yahya al-Hujooree , who was preceded by Sheikh Muqbil al-Wadee the founder of the largest center of orthodox teachings in Yemen. In the last war one Houthi leader expressed that in an hour he would take the masjid of Yahya and sit and chew qat in it. He never realized this goal, as he and his son were killed within the hour. Nevertheless it is not farfetched that a center of learning could easily become the biggest area for a qat chew if taken over by the Houthi faction. Although there is a lot of distress, there is also much hope, and this hope seems to stem from the faith that gathered the various nationalities and socio economic backgrounds to this center of learning. There are those who state that hundreds of foreign fighters have been brought in, but there have always been people of various backgrounds who chose to study at the center and now choose to defend it.

Sources who are on the ground say that while many reports speak about “clashes between Houthis and Salafis”, it is apparent according to various eyewitness accounts that this is not a situation in which both sides are equipped in a similar fashion. While in Yemeni culture it is quite normal to own a gun and the gun market is easily accessible to the average citizen, many of the students of Dar Al Hadeeth in Dammaj do not possess such standard weaponry.

At the same time the school’s pupils are being attacked with missiles that are made to take down planes, weapons that are called “hounds”. One family who has lived there for many years explained how the shrapnel would come down from over the mountain and how it was so hot that it could not be touched. This is the same shrapnel that had entered her son-in-law’s hand and leg.

“You’ve never seen anything like it. It enters inside of you burning hot and then closes so that sometimes you don’t even know theres a wound“.  Her son-in-law had been praying in the masjid of an area called the Mazrah when a bomb entered. He was making his sunna prayers after the congregational noon prayer, and there were six men in front of him also praying. When the explosion happened, it was explained that the smoke was so thick and black, “You could not see your hand in front of you”.  After the smoke cleared , the men who had been praying in front of him were all dead.

The latest news as of today was that after the time in which the children were playing with shells, international aid was allowed to enter after being turned down several times. It has happened before that aid was turned back and many students have said this was because the Houthis deny using tanks and missiles and don’t want aid groups to see what they have done. When speaking to a Zaidi Sadah representative with the NDC, the representative asked if there was more being written on the injustice that was happening in Dammaj. She also extended her prayers and expressed, “We are all saddened by what is happening to the people of Dammaj. The Houthis don’t want people to see , but it is time for people to know the truth.”

Examples of Minor Shirk – Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan by AbdurRahman.org

A person should not underestimate Shirk (polytheism; associating partners with Allaah in worship) and say: "This is [only] minor Shirk."
What are examples of Minor Shirk? For example swearing by other than Allaah. Like swearing by the Prophet, swearing by so-and-so and swearing by the amaanah (trust). He - sallal-Laahu 'alayhi wa sallam - said:
من حلف بغير الله فقد كفر أو أشرك
"Whoever swears by other than Allaah, has disbelieved or commited Shirk."
He - 'alayhi assalaatu was-salaam - said:
لا تحلفوا بآبائكم، من كان حالفا فليحلف بالله أو ليصمت
“Do not swear by your fathers. Whoever wants to swear, let him swear by Allaah or be silent.”
So it is not permissible to swear by other than Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic. And this flows on the tongue of many people, making use of habits and blindfollowing. So it is obligatory to repent from this and to beware of it! A person should not swear except by Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic. If he wants to swear, then let him swear by Allaah or be silent.
Also, from the types of Minor Shirk, is a small amount of riyaa' (showing off). Like a person praying while loving that the people praise him [for doing this], or giving charity while loving that the people praise him. He does righteous deeds while loving that the people praise him (for it); this is riyaa'! This nullifies the deed in which it took place. If he performs a deed that has riyaa' in it, then it is nullified and he receives no reward for it. But it does not nullify the other deeds like Major Shirk does. Rather it only nullifies the deed in which it took place. So the one who shows off his deeds, has associated partners with Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic -  in that deed, but it is Minor Shirk. It nullifies his deed and he receives no reward for it. And when it happens a lot and it becomes a habit in all of his deeds, it becomes Major Shirk, like the riyaa' of the munaafiqoon (hypocrites). The munaafiqoon are in the lowest depths of the Hellfire because they do good deeds only to be seen (by people). All of their deeds are riyaa'! They do not intend the Face of Allaah with their deeds. They only want the praise of the people for them and to hide behind Islaam while their hearts are disbelieving. This is Major Nifaaq (hypocrisy) and Major Riyaa'.
“Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allaah, but it is He Who deceives them. And when they stand up for As-Salaah (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allaah but little.[4: 142]
So riyaa' is of two types. The first type is Major Shirk, and this is the riyaa' of the munaafiqoon, those who have no Eemaan (faith, belief) in their heart at all. The second type is the riyaa' of the believers, those who have Eemaan and Tawheed in their hearts. But Shaytaan beautifies for them the love for praise and the love for sum‘ah (performing good deeds [like reciting Qur'aan] in order to be heard). This doesn't make them exit the religion, but it prevents them from receiving a reward for their deeds in which riyaa' took place.
So a person should be afraid [of falling into this]! This is why he - sallal-Laahu 'alayhi wa sallam - said to his Companions:
أخوف ما أخاف عليكم الشرك الأصغر“That which I fear the most for you is Minor Shirk.”
Then when he was asked about it, he said:
الرياء“Riyaa'.”
A person stands up, prays and beautifies his prayer, because he sees someone looking at him. The Messenger - sallal-Laahu 'alayhi wa sallam - feared this for his Companions, so how about other than them? So this is dangerous aswell! One should not have a relaxed attitude towards it.
And from Minor Shirk, is Shirk in statements. Like saying: “Had it not been for Allaah and you, this and that wouldn't have happened.” This is not permissible. This is Shirk in statements. And if he believes this with his heart, it becomes Major Shirk! But if he didn't intend it and it only flowed on his tongue, then this is Minor Shirk. And that which is obligatory to say is: “Had it not been for Allaah and then for you...”, “As Allaah wills, andthen you will.” Because a man said to the Prophet - sallal-Laahu 'alayhi wa sallam -: “As Allaah and you will.” Then he (the Prophet) said:
أجعلتني لله ندا؟ قل: ما شاء الله وحده“Have you set me up as a rival to Allaah? Say: “As Allaah alone wills.””
So it is not permissible for you to gather the Creator and the creation together in any affair with the letter و  (and); [for example by saying:] “As Allaah wills and you will,” “Had it not been for Allaah and you...” Rather you should use ثم  (then): “As Allaah wills, and then you will,” “Had it not been for Allaah, and then for you...” Because ثم  (then) is used for tarteeb (order) and ta‘qeeb (sequence). As for و  (and) then it is used to gather (two or more affairs) unrestrictedly, it does not imply tarteeb or ta‘qeeb. This is why you shouldn't use the و  (and). And this is what 'Abdullaah ibn 'Abbaas - may Allaah be pleased with both of them - explained the Statement of Allaah - the Most High - with:
فَلاَ تَجْعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ أَندَاداً وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ“Then do not set up rivals unto Allaah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped).[2:22]

He ('Abdullaah ibn 'Abbaas) said that this refers to someone saying: “Had it not been for Allaah and you...” “Had it not been for the dogs, then the thieves would have come to us.” “Had it not been for the duck in the house, the thieves would have come to us.” Ascribing affairs to other than Allaah, this is Minor Shirk. And it is obligatory for you to beware of this.

Shaykh Bin Baz: Those Who are Silent Have Drawn on Themselves the Sin of Concealment by AbdurRahman.org

Shaykh Bin Baz (rahimahullaah) said:
If the people of the truth remained silent about clarifying it, then certainly those upon error would continue upon their errors, and others would follow them in error; likewise, those who are silent will have drawn on themselves the sin of concealment about which Allah (subhanahu) threatened them:
Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse, except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. [Surah al-Baqarah (2):159-160]
Indeed, Allah took a covenant with the scholars from the People of the Book to clarify the book for the people and not to conceal it, and he blamed them for throwing it behind their backs, and he warned us from following them. So, if Ahlus-Sunnah remained quiet about clarifying the mistakes of those who oppose the Qur'an and Sunnah, they have resembled the People of the Book whom Allah is angry with and those who are astray.[1]
Likewise, Shaykh Bin Baz (rahimahullaah) warned by name. He said: "Usamah b. Laden is from those who cause corruption on earth. He searches out evil, corrupt paths, and he exited from obedience to those in authority."[2]

Ruling of Shari’ah on Ghulam Ahmad Pervez – Fatwa by Imaam Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) by AbdurRahman.org

[Ghulam Ahmad Pervez was the right hand man of Muhammed Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, and was one of the leading activists of the Pakistan movement. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, he worked in the Central Government and was also a counselor to Muhammed Ali Jinnah. - wikipedia]
The following is taken from alifta.net - Ruling of Shari`ah on Ghulam Ahmad Pervez - Fatwa by Imaam Ibn Baaz (Rahimahullah)
--
All praise be to Allah Alone, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, and his family and Companions.
I have reviewed the article published in Al-Hajj Magazine, in its second issue dated 16 Sha`ban, 1382 A.H., on the Fatwa request submitted to it by our fellow scholar, Shaykh Muhammad Yusuf Al-Banury, principal of the Arab Islamic School in Karachi, about the ruling of Shari`ah (Islamic law) regarding Ghulam Ahmad Pervez who has recently come into view in the lands of India, and regarding his beliefs, examples of which were presented by the reverend questioner. He also enquired about the religious ruling on those who follow, embrace, and call to such beliefs, and so on.
A: The examples of the beliefs of Ghulam Ahmad Pervez as quoted by the questioner in his Fatwa request published in the said magazine, amount to twenty. All people endowed with knowledge and insight, who examine such examples, will realize beyond doubt that he who embraces and calls to such beliefs has fallen into major Kufr (disbelief) and apostatized from Islam. Therefore, he should be invited to repent. He must unequivocally repent of his former beliefs and belie them, and publish such repentance in local newspapers - just as he had published his false beliefs therein. Otherwise, it becomes obligatory for the ruler of the Muslims to execute him; a ruling which is Ma`lum minad-din biddarurah (well-established and known Islamic principles). The proofs corroborating such a ruling in the Qur'an,the Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet), and the Ijma` (consensus of scholars) are too many to be surveyed in the present answer. All the examples presented by the questioner of the beliefs of Ghulam Ahmad Pervez necessitate declaring him a Kafir (disbeliever) and Murtad (apostate), according to the scholars of Shari`ah.
Here we quote some of the referred to examples so that the readers would realize how much heinous, offensive, and far from Islam are such beliefs, and would recognize that those who embrace them do not believe in Allah, the Day of Resurrection, the Messenger (peace be upon him), or what Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) and His Messenger informed of regarding the Hereafter, Paradise, and the Fire. Besides, the reader would perceive that those who embrace such beliefs are far distanced from what the messengers were sent with, and that they harbor bitter enmity, grudge, and intrigue against Islam and Muslims. Moreover, they are crafty plotters, skilled in confusing people, and are bereft of decency and good manners.
We ask Allah (Exalted be He) for well-being and safety - for us and for all Muslims - from the evil inflicted on that evil atheist.
The first example of the beliefs of the atheist Ghulam Ahmad Pervez according to what is mentioned in the Fatwa request published in the referred to magazine, reads: "All that is stated in the Glorious Qur'an of Sadaqah (voluntary charity), inheritance, and other financial rulings are temporary, and are intended to gradually rise up to an independent role, namely [he calls it] the system of Rububiyyah (Lordship). Thus, when the time comes, these rulings will come to an end, since they are temporary and subordinate."
The second example: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions deduced from the Qur'an rulings that turned out to be Shari`ah. Likewise, all those who follow him are consultative members of a central government entitled to infer from the Qur'an rulings that, in turn, become the Shari`ah of their age, while they are not required to apply the preceding Shari`ah. Moreover, such a process is not limited to only one aspect of the Shari`ah, but it rather applies to the acts of worship, transactions, and morals. That is why the Qur'an did not specify the details of worship."
The third example: "Allah (Exalted be He) says: Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. The meaning of obedience to Allah and His Messenger is obedience to the center of the Ummah (nation based on one creed), that is, the central government, while 'those who are in authority' refers to the assemblies held under its rule. Thus, the government alone assumes legislation. Besides, obedience to Allah does not mean obedience to His Book, the Qur'an, neither does obedience to the Messenger mean conformity with his Hadiths. For every central government instituted after the age of revelation enjoy the position of the Messenger, and, thus, obedience to Allah and His Messenger surely mean obedience to such a government. Even more, the Messenger was obeyed because of being the commander and leader of the central government, while what was obeyed was the central government itself."
The fourth example: "The Glorious Qur'an states that the Prophet (peace be upon him) does not deserve to be obeyed, and that he does not have the right to impose obedience to him on Muslims. Besides, obedience to Allah (Exalted be He) and His Messenger (peace be upon him) means nothing but obedience to the center of the religious system, which implements the rulings of the Qur'an only."
The sixth example: "Paradise and Fire do not refer to certain places, but they rather refer to the conditions of man."
The nineteenth example: "Belief in Predestination, both the good and the evil thereof, is a Magian subterfuge made as a creed for Muslims."
These, dear readers, are samples contained in the Fatwa request published in the magazine (presented in the same way they are arranged in the Fatwa request), so that you may conceive the correctness of what I mentioned above. When the readers review the other examples published in the magazine, they would find evidence of the heinous ideas and Kufr of Ghulam Ahmad. This leads us to many of Allah's clear signs and conclusive proofs confirming His Wisdom in His Creation and His Absolute Ability to turn hearts and to seal their doom through deviation so that they could reach almost inconceivable limits.Praise be to Allah! How Sublime is He and how Perfect is His Power! Allah says: Thus does Allâh seal up the hearts of those who know not [the proofs and evidence of the Oneness of Allâh i.e. those who try not to understand true facts that which you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) have brought to them]. These quoted examples, and also those unquoted, are proven Batil (false) through many Ayahs (Qur'anic verses) and authentic Hadiths and through the Ijma`. The Ayahs include the Words of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He): Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allâh and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrâhîm (Abraham), Ismâ‘îl (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), Ya‘qûb (Jacob), and to Al-Asbât [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya‘qûb (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Mûsâ (Moses) and ‘Isâ (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islâm)." So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allâh will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. This atheist has never believed in what Allah sent down to Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to the preceding messengers. Rather, he wholeheartedly denied it, as indicated through his denial of obedience to Allah (Exalted be He) and His Messenger (peace be upon him) and of His Shari`ah, and his disbelief in Paradise and Fire, and his rejection of Predestination. Indeed, this asserts that he is not only aberrant but also among the people of dissension, disbelief, and atheism. Allah (Exalted be He) says: Truly, the religion with Allâh is Islâm. Yet, this atheist denies this religion and believes that obedience to the Messenger (peace be upon him) was confined to his lifetime, and that he was obeyed, not because of being the Messenger of Allah, but because he was the leader of the central government. Likewise, he denies obedience to Allah and refuses to conform to it, since - for him - obedience is due only to the central government, no matter what form it takes. Such is an explicit denial of Allah and the Qur'an and plain negation of Islam and of the fact that it is the religion that must be embraced. Moreover, he believes that the authoritative religion is that which is enacted by the central government, even if it contradicts the Qur'an and the Sunnah. In this regard, Allah (Exalted be He) says: And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.
In addition, this atheist - as shown above - does not accept this Ayah, and in turn he belies Allah and opposes Him. Hence, he will be one of the losers in the Hereafter, knowing that the loser in the Hereafter or the absolute loser is the Kafir, who deserves everlasting torture in the Fire. We seek refuge with Allah against such an end. Allah (Exalted be He) says: O you who believe! Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allâh and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), if you believe in Allâh and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. He (Exalted be He) also says: The command (or the judgement) is for none but Allâh. He has commanded that you worship none but Him (i.e. His Monotheism); that is the (true) straight religion And: And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allâh (He is the ruling Judge). This deviating atheist, however, rejects all these Ayahs and denies both obedience to Allah (Exalted be He) and His Messenger (peace be upon him) and referral to them for judgment (as already indicated above). Furthermore, he believes that all such matters are due for the central government. This is enough to declare him a Kafir and proves the corruption of his beliefs and his opposition to Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and the Muslims. There is no need to present an argument in confirmation of the Kufr, aberrancy, and deviation of the one holding such beliefs, for it is as clear as daylight. Besides, there are numerous Ayahs to this effect.
As for the Hadith, it is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith and others that he said: Every prophet would be sent to his nation only, but I have been sent to all mankind. It is also authentically reported he (peace be upon him) said: My entire Ummah will enter Paradise except the one who refuses. It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, who will refuse?' He (peace be upon him) said, 'Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses.' (Related by Al-Bukhari)
Again, Allah (Glorified be He) says in the Glorious Qur'an: Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allâh." And: He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), has indeed obeyed Allâh.
However, this atheist does not believe that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent by Allah, that he must be obeyed, or that he is a Messenger to all mankind. Rather, he believes that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was only to be obeyed during his lifetime and only on the grounds of his being the head of the central government, not because of his being the Messenger of Allah. So, praise be to Allah, how heinous is such a claim and how far distanced from guidance is it! According to well-established religious matters that are recorded in authentic references, the Muslims unanimously agree that whoever belies Allah or His Messenger (peace be upon him), even if about a small matter, or deems apostasy from Islam permissible, or says that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent to the Arabs only or to the people living during his lifetime, becomes a Kafir and Murtad, whose execution is declared lawful and whose money is to be seized. Praise be to Allah, this point is uncontroversial among religious scholars, and, thus, there is no need for more elaboration on this matter by quoting their unanimity from reliable sources. I hope that what is already mentioned is satisfactory for the questioner and for the readers in general. Undoubtedly, the Kufr of Ghulam Ahmad Pervez according to what is quoted of his beliefs and opinions, is taken for granted by common Muslims, not to mention scholars. Thus, there is no more need to state in great detail the proofs of such a claim. We ask Allah to safeguard the Muslims from the evil of Ghulam Ahmad and those like him, to bridle the enemies of Islam wherever they may be, to foil their intrigues, and to let them perish in their rage without fulfilling their intentions. Indeed, He is Able to do all things.
Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us). There is neither might nor power except with Him. May peace and blessings be upon His Servant and Messenger, our Master and Imam, Muhammad ibn `Abdullah, who was sent to all mankind with the perfect Shari`ah until the Day of Resurrection, and upon his family and Companions, and upon those who uprightly follow them until the Day of Resurrection. All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

The White Plane Returns

The White Plane returns

November 10, 2013 8:17 am

Yesterday and today a white plane was spotted circling over Dammaaj.

We have seen this plane appear periodically for maybe over a year now.

It’s too high to distinguish what kind of plane it is.

Even though it’s far away it doesn’t look small. It usually circles for an hour or two.

Last night at least four students were killed in a 9 hour attack that started at the time sunset prayer (approximately 6pm) until the first call for the morning prayer (approximately 3am).

The area is called the Watan where strictly students live.

The houthis pounded repeatedly with their usual (tanks, mortar shells, heavy machine gun fire, and anti-aircraft weaponry).

His nourishment was the remembrance of Allah – A reminder by Shaykh Fawzan by AbdurRahman.org

Imaam ibn Al Qayyim—may Allah have mercy upon him—said:
He went to his Shaykh—Shaykh of Islam ibn Taymiyyah—because he wanted to speak to him about something, or to take knowledge from him. So he found him siting remembering Allah. He was too afraid to speak to him until he finished from the remembrance of Allah. Then he turned to him and said: How long have you been here? He said: Since such and such a time and I am waiting. Thus the Shaykh (Ibn Taymiyyah) may Allah have mercy upon him said: ‘This is my breakfast, if I do not take my breakfast, I would not have strength to work that day’.
Thus his portion of remembrance was his breakfast which gave him strength to deal with work during his day; may Allah have mercy upon him. And this is how the Muslim is.
For this reason he (Ibn Taymiyyah) said:
‘Verily to Allah belongs a paradise in this world, whoever does not enter it, will not enter the paradise of the next life’.
Meaning the remembrance of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, it is paradise in this world because it relaxes the Muslim and soothes him and expands his chest, and removes his anxiety and repels the devils away from him. Thus it is a paradise. He enjoys it more than he enjoys food, drink, and desires. For this reason, you will find if a person does not say his portion of remembrance during the first part of the day or the first part of the morning, or the first part of the evening, you find him dejected and disconsolate. But if he adheres to his portion of remembrance in the beginning of the morning or the first part of the evening, you find him at ease with his chest expanded.
For this reason, the remembrance of Allah always and forever accompanies the Muslim; in the morning, in the evening, at the time of sleep, when he is aroused during the night or while sleeping, and when he awakens. The remembrance of Allah is always upon the heart and tongue of the Muslim. He is never able to do without it.
This is in contrast to the hypocrite, disbeliever, pagan and sinner. Their pleasure and enjoyment is in music, instruments, plays, skits and comedies. They are not familiar with the remembrance of Allah. For this reason He said concerning the hypocrite:
وَلاَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً
And they do not remember Allah but little. (Soorah An Nisa 4:142)
They are not put at ease by the remembrance of Allah; they are only put at ease by the remembrance of the devil. We ask Allah for safety and security.
The remembrance of Allah connects the person to his Lord; as it comes in the hadith Qudsi. Allah سبحانه says:
أنا مع عبدي إن ذكرني في نفسه ذكرته في نفسي، وإن ذكرني في ملأ ذكرته في ملأ خير منه
I am with My slave, if he mentions me to himself I mention him to Myself, and if he mentions Me in a gathering I mention him in a gathering better than his gathering.
Meaning: a gathering of Angels.
And Allah جل وعلا said:
فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُواْ لِي وَلاَ تَكْفُرُونِ
Therefore remember Me. I will remember you, and be grateful to Me and never be ungrateful to Me. (Soorah Al Baqarah 2:152)
Thus how can the person do without the remembrance of Allah, that which brings him near to Allah, and grants him the favor of Allah mentioning him and lauding him in the highest gathering?! These are tremendous benefits from the remembrance of Allah عز وجل.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم gave the resemblance of the person and the remembrance of Allah, to the person whose enemies came out in quick pursuit of him, desiring to kill him. Thus he took shelter in a strong fortress, and thus he was saved from them. He said: ‘Likewise is the remembrance of Allah, it is the fortress of the Muslim.’
This is what protects him from his enemies, from the devils of man and jinn; thus it is necessary for the Muslim to adhere to the remembrance of Allah with his tongue, his heart, and his actions.
