Visiting the Prophet’s Grave عليه السلام after Every Prayer

The Shaikh was asked a question about whether a visitor to Medinah is allowed to go to the Prophet’s grave صلى الله عليه وسلم after every prayer, so he said:
Al-Albaani: If what you mean is every time someone prays, then we say no; but it is permissible [for the visitor] to do that sometimes and likewise it is not permissible for the residents of Medinah to visit it constantly after every prayer as is the case nowadays, for in doing so they are taking his grave عليه السلام as a place of festivity [Eed], and established hadiths have been reported which prohibit taking his grave عليه السلام as a place of festivity.
But a person who does that sometimes whether he be a resident or a visitor to Medinah–then let him do it sometimes and not repeatedly.
Questioner: Wouldn’t Ibn Umar do that?
Al-Albaani: Not all the time, he would, for example, upon returning from a journey, go to the Prophet’s grave عليه السلام and give him salaam and to Abu Bakr and his father, but as for him making that his habit as the innovators do–then far be it for him to do such a thing.

Ibn Baaz: Have a Set Amount You Read From the Quraan Daily

Shaikh Abdul-Aziz ibn Muhammad ibn Dawud said, “I was going with his eminence, may Allaah have mercy on him, from the Imaam Turki ibn Abdullaah mosque to his house when he asked me about reading the Quraan.  I told him I read it from time to time but that I did not have a set portion that I read daily.  So he said that I should take up an amount to read from the Quraan daily even if it was only a little, explaining that the person who has a set portion which he reads daily from the Quraan will finish it, but he who does not may finish reading it quickly one time but then months may pass and he will not have finished it, and he mentioned the example of a person who reads a juzz a day finishing it in a month and he who reaads two finishing it in fifteen days.”

BENEFIT: THE TRUTH IS A CLEAR PATH OF HONESTY

ما كان لله بقي
"What is done solely for Allaah remains"
Imaam Maalik (may Allaah have Mercy on him)

The truth is a clear path of honesty, good and wholesome throughout.
Whoever believes that trickery and deception can aid the truth is concealing a rotten and corrupt heart.
There is no escape from the people's plots and plans and widespread corruption, and no refuge anywhere...
except by fleeing to Allaah alone, the Mighty and Majestic.

حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل

Quote from Moosaa Richardson.

Fathers whose Children will Intercede for Them on the Day of Judgement

Questioner: What kind of intercession is it that a child will do for his father when his father was someone who had given an aqiqah on behalf of that child? [The Aqiqah being the Sunnah of sacrificing two sheep for the new-born boy and one for the girl]
Al-Albaani: It is known in many hadiths that on the Day of Resurrection there will be young children standing at the gate of Paradise, crying and asking for their fathers. So Allaah the Blessed and Most High will send Jibreel عليه السلام to ask them why they are crying–even though He the Blessed and Most High knows better about them–so Jibreel عليه السلام will ask them why and they will reply, saying, ‘We will not enter Paradise except that our fathers are with us.’ So the Lord of the Worlds will give permission to them and their fathers to enter Paradise.
So this type of intercession, i.e., hastening entry into Paradise, is what those fathers who offered aqiqah’s on behalf of their children, i.e., sacrificed on their behalf when they were born, deserve.

When he comes, Imaam Mahdi will not be able to do More than what the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did by Ahmed Abu Turaab

Shaikh al-Albaani said, “O my brother Muslim, know that many of the Muslims today have strayed from the truth in this issue. From them are those who hold it to be a settled fact that an Islamic state will not be established except with the emergence of the Mahdi! And this is a myth and is misguidance which the devil throws into the hearts of many of the masses, especially the Sufis among them–and there is nothing in the hadiths of the Mahdi which indicates that at all.
Rather, all of those hadiths do not go beyond the fact that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم gave glad tidings to the Muslims of [the coming of] a man from his household, and he described him with outstanding characteristics, the most important of them being the fact that he will judge by Islaam and spread justice amongst mankind.
So in reality, he is one of the revivers which Allaah sends at the head of every one hundred years, as is authentically reported from him صلى الله عليه وسلم. So just as that [i.e., the emergence of a reviver at the head of every one hundred years] does not necessitate the abandonment of striving to seek knowledge and acting upon it to revive the religion, then likewise, the emergence of the Mahdi does not mean relying totally on him [tawaakul] without making preparations and without taking steps to establish Allaah’s rule on earth.
Rather the opposite of that is correct. For indeed the Mahdi’s efforts will not be greater than those of our Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم who spent twenty-three years working to establish the foundations of Islaam and its state–so what can the Mahdi possible do if he emerged today and found the Muslims split into sects and groups, and [found] their [bad] scholars, except for a few of [the good ones among] them, to have been taken as heads by the people! He would not be able to establish the nation state of Islaam except after uniting their word and uniting their ranks, under one banner, and this without doubt requires a long time which Allaah knows best as to just how long.
So both the Legislation and the intellect demand that the sincere Muslims carry out this obligation such that when the Mahdi does come, he will not be required except to lead them to victory and if he doesn’t come [in their time, then at the very least] they will have fulfilled what was obligatory upon them, and Allaah says, “And say, ‘Do [as you will], for Allaah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger …’” [Tawbah 9:105]
As-Saheehah, 4/42-43.

The Servant Will Not Acquire the Status of the Muttaqeen Until...

At-Tirmidhee and Ibn Maajah narrated that `Atiyah As-Sa`di said that the Messenger of Allah (sall`Allahu `alayhi wasallam) said,
«لَا يَبْلُغُ الْعَبْدُ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ حَتَّى يَدَعَ مَالَا بَأْسَ بِهِ حَذَرًا مِمَّا بِهِ بَأْس»

The servant will not acquire the status of the Muttaqeen until he abandons what is harmless out of fear of falling into that which is harmful.” At-Tirmidhee then said, "Hasan Ghareeb.''

Some Affairs of Disbelief and foolishness: The Nusayriyyah (Syrian Alawite Rawaafid)

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Shaikh Abu Umar Usaamah Al-Uthaybee (may Allaah preserve him) said:
Those Nusayriyyah are disbelievers and heretics. They believe or speak with the trinity. The trinity of the Nusayriyyah are (letters):
ع ، م ، س
‘Ayn’ meaning: Ali Ibn Abee Taalib (radiyallaahu-anhu)
‘Meem’
 meaning: Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)
‘Seen’
 meaning: Salmaan Al-Faarisee (radiyallaahu-anhu)
Ali (radiyallaahu-anhu) is the Ilaah (i.e. the god or object of worship).  Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) is the means of approach to the god or object of worship and Salmaan Al-Faarisee (radiyallaahu-anhu) is the shelter.   And from the amazing affairs of these Nusayriyyah is that when a person dies, they would dislocate his left hand.  And why is this? So that he will not receive his book of deeds with his left hand, and will (instead) receive it with his right hand. [end of quote]

We ask Allaah to protect us from the beliefs of all the disbelievers, especially that of the different sects and groups of the Shia Rawaafid.  Shaikh Abu Umar Usaamah Al-Uthaybee (may Allaah preserve him) is one of the students of Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Hadee al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him). The full audio and transcript of Shaikh Abu Umar’s speech can be downloaded at http://www.ajurry.com/vb/. It is a transmission of Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al- Luhaydaan’s (may Allaah preserve him) verdict against the Nusayriyyah of Syria.

The Companions and the Time they Found the Body of the Prophet Daanyaal by Ahmed Abu Turaab

Questioner:
The story which the ‘Imaams of the Da’wah’ report in some of their books, that some of the Companions found the body of the Prophet Daanyaal and so dug thirteen graves for it [such that they would bury him in one of them] so that the people would be unable to locate it, how far is this narration authentic?
Al-Albaani: Firstly, at the start of your question you mentioned, the ‘Imaams of theDa’wah, who are you referring to with that phrase?
Questioner: Shaikh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab’s grandchildren.
Al-Albaani: But nowadays it usually refers to the Tablighi Jamaa’ah.
Questioner: I didn’t mean that.
Al-Albaani: You didn’t mean that but your wording gave that false impression, that’s why, according to what I understood [when you used that term], I found it strange that you attributed that to them because those people [i.e., Jamaa’atut-Tabligh] do not give important to such noble issues at all.
Questioner: True.
Al-Albaani: [Anyway], what is important is that this narration has an authentic, established basis, having many paths of narration. Right now I do not recall whether the particular details that you mentioned are correct. But what is important is that they really did find [his body] and then dug [the earth] and caused a river to flow over him [i.e., over the grave] such that it was not possible to go to it and glorify it or for it to be worshipped instead of Allaah the Blessed and Most High, this is established.

Ibn Baaz and Revenge

Dr. Naasir ibn Misfir al-Zahraani said,
"Some students of knowledge came [to Shaikh Ibn Baaz] and complained about someone to him.  They explained his mistakes [to the Shaikh] and some of the issues in which that person had opposed the Sunnah.  So the Shaikh started to dictate a treatise criticising, advising and directing him;while he was doing so someone said, 'And he speaks ill of you, O Shaikh, and slanders you.'
So the Shaikh said to the scribe, 'Stop and leave what you are writing for fear that the people will say that the Shaikh is taking revenge for himself.'"
Mawaaqif Mudee’ah, p. 204.

How Many Pairs of Scales Will There Be on the Day of Judgement? by Ahmed Abu Turaab

Questioner: The Most High said, “And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection,” [Anbiyaa 21:47], so will the scales on the Day of Resurrection be a single pair or a number of scales?
Al-Albaani: There is no doubt that it is not allowed to alter or replace the wording of the Quraan. So as long as Allaah the Mighty and Majestic has used the word, ‘[pairs of] scales’ then it is ‘[pairs of] scales,’ [i.e., as opposed to a single pair of scales].
And there is nothing stopping these pairs of scales being different as we know they are from the Unseen, and it is not fitting that we picture them to be a specific pair of scales, how can we when the scales found in this world now have become numerous and of many variations. So it is all the more so that on the Day of Resurrection there will be multiple/various pairs of scales.
So as long as Allaah the Mighty and Majestic has mentioned scales in the plural form in such Quranic wording, I hold it to be a denial of the [correct] meaning for [the term] ‘pairs of scales’ to be explained to mean ‘a pair of scales,’ and this is not from the way of theSalaf.

Seeking Knowledge In Our Time and Seeking Knowledge In The Time That Was Before Us by AbdurRahman.org

Why the people who seek knowledge today don't find the success with their knowledge and great benefit with their knowledge ?
Lecture by Shaykh Muhammed Ibn Haadee al-Madhkhaalee [hafidahullaahu ta'aala]
Translator's Introduction:
"In shaa Allaahu ta'aala were giving a very praiseworthy lecture by Shaykh Muhammed Ibn Haadee al-Madhkhaalee [hafidahullaahu ta'aala] ad-Doctor from Jazaan. He did a beautiful lecture [about 2 weeks ago] entitled: Seeking Knowledge In Our Time & Seeking Knowledge In The Time That Was Before Us. After listening to this lecture; me, myself as the translator, I wanted to say that this has really changed my life, just since I heard this lecture. It had a tremendous effect in my life. So much so, that I just had to share it with the people, so that hopefully it will have an effect on our life or on your life, as it had an effect on my life. Or perhaps even have a greater effect on the lives of those who are listening, than it even had upon me and is continuously having upon me to this very moment right now; walhamdulillaah. The Shaykh - as a synopsis or the introduction - to what he talked about in his lecture, so you know what to look for, which is the reason why we entitled it online, the title we gave. Which is, the Shaykh he really talks about why the people who seek knowledge today don't find the success with their knowledge and great benefit with their knowledge in their lives, and upon themselves, and everyone around them. As we seen, when knowledge was sought by those Imams, those `kibaar al-Ulamaa who just recently died & those that still remain, and the strong students of knowledge; how we see knowledge effect them. So in this lecture the Shaykh, he's going to explain why we don't find success. And he breaks it down to 4 main reasons. In which he's going to give them first and then he's going to explain each 4 of those reasons. And his lecture in Arabic was a total 1 hour & 10 minutes. With the questions and answers, it added another 33 minutes, but were not going to include, with this, the questions and answers. Were just going to include the lecture. And in shaa Allaahu ta'aala were going to translate this and hopefully with the success of Allaah subhannah wa ta'aala. And that Allaah, with the success lies & to Him I seek assistance and to Him I return to in repentance. So in shaa Allaahu ta'aala, this is basically what the Shaykh talked about..."

An Amazing Affair From The Dawah of Shaikhul Islaam

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Ibn Abdul Haadee (rahimahullaah) said:
When he [shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah)] entered prison, he found the prisoners pre-occupied with various types of games with which they pass the time, such as chess, backgammon and the likes, of (those things that lead) to neglect of the five daily prayers.
So the Shaikh [Ibn Taymiyyah(rahimahullaah)] severely disapproved of that from them. He commanded them to adhere to the five daily prayers and to turn to Allaah through performance of righteous deeds, glorification of Allaah, seeking forgiveness for their sins and supplication.
He made them acquainted with what they were in need of from the Sunnah. He awakened their desire for it and urged them towards it, until a lot of good came about in the prison due to that which was (present) in it of pre-occupation with knowledge and the Religion better than many of the small prayer rooms, the hospices, the places where people secluded themselves for worship and the schools.  And it became (such) that many amongst the prisoners chose to remain with him (Ibn Taymiyyah) after they were released, and those returning to the prison became so numerous that it became filled with them.

Repeating one of the Names of Allah specific number of times

Allah's Name Al-Latif being repeated 129 times
Q: In some of the Masjids (mosques) here in the district of Bashshar, people repeat Al-Latif (i.e. The Kindest), one of Allah's Most Beautiful Names, every Friday after finishing the study circle before the Adhan (call to Prayer) and the two sermons of Friday Salah. They repeat this Name 129 times. I asked the Imam about this practice and he told me that they do so for Allah to save them from His Wrath. What is your view and explanation of this practice?
A: Recitation of Allah's Name (Al-Latif) 129 times before the Adhan of Friday Salah has nothing to do with the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him) nor his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) nor the Salaf (righteous predecessors). In fact this is one of the Bid`ah (innovation in religion) introduced to religion. It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected [1].i.e. Allah will not accept it from the person who does it. With regards to sitting in circles for lessons before the Adhan (call to Prayer) of the Friday Salah and the two sermons, it is forbidden according to the Hadith that is narrated by Al-Nasa'y from `Amr ibn Shu`ayb from his father from his grandfather: That the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade sitting in study circles in mosques before the Jumu`ah (Friday) Prayer [2]
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

Ruling on naming someone: “Razzaq” or “Um Razzaq”

Ruling on naming someone: "Razzaq"
Q: What is your Eminence's opinion on the name "Razzaq" and "Um Razzaq"? [1]
A: It is not permissible to use this name since Al-Razzaq (The All- Provider) is Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He):
Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong. [2]
Accordingly, the name Abdul-Razzaq is the one to be used. Also, it is not permissible to say Um (the mother of) Razzaq or Um Khallaq (The Creator), for both Names are Attributes of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He). Rather, this woman should say Um Abdul-Razzaq instead and if she has an ID card, she should change it if she is able to.

Knowing Allaah – Dr Saleh as Saleh (rahimahullaah)

The greatest, most excellent "and most honorable knowledge is that of Allaah, Most High, His Names, Attributes, and Actions, the knowledge of His deen and of His Messenger (Peace be upon him) with love and magnification, being pleased with it all." [9]
The ranks of people with respect to this knowledge varies to a great extent. "Some people know of Allaah by virtue of His Generosity, Bounties, and Favors, others know of Him through His Forgiveness, Clemency, and Pardoning, others through His Knowledge and Wisdom, others recognize Him by His Might and Majesty, others by His Mercy, Goodness, Kindness, and Courtesy, others by His Subduing and Sovereignty, and others by the fact that He answers their supplications, and fulfills their needs, and relieves their grief.
The one who is most comprehensive in his knowledge of Allaah, knows of Him by means of His own Words. He knows a Rabb to whom belongs the Most Majestic and Perfect Attributes. Far is He removed from having anything comparable to Him or any equal; free from all kinds of defects and imperfections; qualified with every beautiful Name and every perfect Attribute; Doer of what He intends (wills); Above everything [istawaa (ascended) upon the 'arsh above the seven heavens] and with everything [He encompasses everything with His Knowledge, Ability, Authority, and so forth from the meanings of His ruboobiyyah, while He is the Most High, above everything]; the One who is Able to do everything; the One Who manages the affairs of everything. He commands and forbids. He speaks the legislative (deeniyyah ) [10] and universal (kawniyyah ) [11] words. He is Greater than everything, and He is the Most Beautiful. the Most Merciful, the All-Able, the All-Wise.
[9] Ibnul Qayyim. See Ftn.6, vol. 1, pp. 291-292.
[10] Deeniyyah: Pertrains to Allaah's sharee'ah (Commands and Prohibitions of the Islaamic Code). It is also known as al-iraadah as-shar'iyyah (Allaah's legislative Will).
[11] Kawniyyah: Relates to Allaah's Will in His creation. Everything He Wills is certain to pass, and everything He Wills not to pass, will never occur. None is able to escape Allaah's universal decree.

Calling upon Allaah by His Attributes or Actions

From Brother Moosa Richardson:
1. We are not required to restrict ourselves to calling upon Allaah using only His Names, rather we can call upon Allaah by His Attributes or Actions, like saying, “Yaa thal-Jalaali wal-Ikraam”. This does not mean that we must first affirm that Thul-Jalaali wal-Ikraam is one of His Names. Similarly, we can say, “Yaa Rabba kulli shay’” (O Lord of all things), without first affirming that “Rabbu kulli shay’” is one of Allaah’s Names… This is something well known and spoken of in the scholars’ books.
2. It is very virtuous to call upon Allaah using His Most Beautiful Names, due to His Statement, that means, “And to Allaah belong the Most Beautiful Names, so call upon Him using them…”
3. Based on the first two points, the scholars who advise(d) against saying, “Yaa saatir”, perhaps they intended to guide people to what is better: the name “as-Sitteer”, which is established in an authentic narration, as opposed to “as-Saatir” or “As-Sattaar” which are both derived from His Action of as-Sitr, like in the hadeeth, “Whoever screens a believer in this life, “satarullaah” (Allaah screens him) in this life and the Hereafter…” Thus, to call on Allaah beginning with “Yaa Saatir…” is permissible, just as it is permissible to call upon Allaah beginning with, “Yaa Badee’as-Samaawaatil-wal-Ardh…” and the likes.
4. Building on a recent thread about saying only, “Yaa Allaah!” (properly pronounced “Yallaah!”) without asking for anything… just as it is not legislated for you to call upon Allaah saying this and then not ask for anything, similarly it is not legislated for you to call upon Allaah saying, “Yaa Saatir!” without asking for anything (as is the custom of many people). This goes for when you call upon Allaah by any of His Names, Attributes, or Actions.
5. Thus, if a person were to say, “Yaa Saatir (or Sattaar), ustur ‘awraatinaa!” (O He who screens, conceal our weaknesses!”), it would be similar to any other case of calling upon Allaah by mentioning His Actions, like “Yaa Haazim al-Ahzaab” and the likes.
6. We say that “as-Sitteer” is from Allaah’s Names, and that we do not have any proof to affirm “as-Saatir” or “as-Sattaar” as His Names. However, we have no proof to negate either of them as Names either, as Allaah has Names that He has not informed us of. This requires a delicate understanding.
7. We can refer to Allaah by any of His Names, Attributes, or Actions in our oaths as well, like saying, “I swear by the One in whose Hand is my soul…”
And Allaah knows best.
